Is it time already?

Richard will be leaving for DC in the next couple of days, to start a new chapter in his life. No matter how old my children get, saying goodbye always involves a few tears for me. We had a small Xmas eve dinner with my mom, she fixed her great potato soup, and we all exchanged a few presents. She told me that "...after all, I may not be here next year..." And so it goes. It snowed a few flakes here yesterday, and of course everyone was in total awe.
